from 1969-1975, Was President, DPCC during 1988 to 1992, Again became
President, DPCC in 1977, Executive Councilor (Development) during 1983-90,
discharged his responsibilities successfully, was elected to the first Legislative
Assembly in 1993. Has never lost election since 1958 and has created a world
record of winning nine elections in a row from the same constituency. He
was Speaker of Second Assembly, elected MLA for third Assembly in 2003 and
again reelected Speaker of the third Assembly. Re-elected as MLA for
the Fourth Legislative Assembly in 2008. |
